Corpus Christi in Norcia

Seminarian Jason Keas sent this picture:

Here is a picture of Fr. Eric Nielsen (right) and Fr. John Heisler (left) standing by the freshly placed flowers for the Eucharistic procession in Norcia (Sunday, June 6, 2010) .  It was such a blessing to see how the Catholic culture is still alive in this old town.

And this is from the journal of Brendan Johnson, June 6, 2010:

Today was an incredible day!  We were able to celebrate the Mass of Corpus Christi in the crypt of the Basilica of St. Benedict with a few guests: Fr. Corcoran from Columbus and three of his family members happened to make their way through Norcia, and asked to join us for Mass.  After the Mass,  about seven of us participated in the annual Corpus Christi procession  in Norcia.

It seems like it is a pretty big deal, because they have beautiful flower arrangements all along the city outlining the path that will be taken by the procession. There are also some very elaborate pictures all around the statue of St. Benedict in the city’s main piazza — incredibly beautiful and all made out of flower petals!
